🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation | Orange Shirt Day

September 30 is a day to honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities.

This year, that reflection feels especially important here at home. Following the deeply concerning events on Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc lands this past weekend, we want to be clear that we stand with Tk̓emlúps and against racism, hate and intimidation.

At Progrus, we are grateful for the relationships we have built with Indigenous communities and recognize that reconciliation is not something that happens on a single day. It requires listening, learning, respect and meaningful action throughout the year.

Today, we honour the children, Survivors, families and communities whose lives continue to be impacted by the residential school system.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

Some of the most meaningful work takes us a little farther from home. ❤️

Over the past several months, our team has had the privilege of spending time in a remote First Nation community, working alongside community members on projects that support their homes, shared spaces and everyday quality of life.

Along the way, we've also had the opportunity to listen, learn and talk about what's next — helping turn community ideas and priorities into plans for the future.

Remote work comes with its challenges, but it also reminds us that construction is about much more than buildings. It's about people, relationships and creating spaces that serve a community for years to come.

We're grateful for the trust that's been placed in our team and proud to play a small part in bringing the community's vision to life.

And we have to admit... some of our project sites come with a pretty incredible view. ❤️

Today we celebrate the cultures, traditions, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

We are incredibly grateful for the trust, partnerships, and friendships we have built through our relationships with Indigenous communities and partners. These relationships continue to teach us, inspire us, and remind us of the importance of listening, learning, and working together.

🏗️ Every project has its challenges, and this one was no exception.

What makes the difference is having a team that shows up each day ready to find solutions, work together, and keep pushing forward. We're proud of the progress being made on our West Moberly project and the commitment our crew has shown every step of the way.

👏 As an added bonus, some of the best office views in the province haven't hurt either. From mountain backdrops to lakeside scenery, it's hard to beat a workday like this. 😊🏔️🌊

It's exciting to see the project taking shape, and we can't wait to share more as work continues.

A day to remember and honour workers who have lost their lives, been injured, or made ill due to workplace incidents.

We take a moment to stand with the families, friends, and coworkers who carry that loss.

In our industry, this hits close to home. It’s a reminder that the work we do — and how we do it — matters.

Today, and every day, we remain committed to looking out for one another and making sure everyone goes home safe.

We love seeing partnerships like this in action.

In just 7 days, this Dodeca Homes module took shape thanks to a talented crew—including members of our Progrus team, Mat Ward Construction, and community members from Tsalalh First Nation and Canim Lake Band.

Projects like this are about more than building homes—they’re about sharing skills, creating opportunities, and working together toward real housing solutions.

Grateful to have been part of it. Amazing work by everyone involved! 🙌

The Heavy Metal Rocks event is all about opening doors for the next generation—and that’s something we can get behind every time.

Through this program, Grade 11 and 12 students from SD73 don’t just learn about the trades—they get right into it. Hands on the controls, working one-on-one with certified operators who genuinely want to pass on their knowledge and passion.

And it’s more than just a day on the machines. Students walk away with real, tangible certifications—first aid, site safety, WHMIS, forklift operation, and aerial lift training—giving them a meaningful head start if they choose a path in the trades.

We talk a lot about the future of our industry… this is it.

A huge shoutout to the many companies, sponsors, and volunteers who donate their time, equipment, and expertise to make this event possible. It takes a village to create opportunities like this, and it’s pretty incredible to see our industry come together to support the next generation.

Programs like this build confidence, spark interest, and show young people that there are strong, rewarding careers right here in our communities—and we’re proud to be even a small part of that. 💛
