A safer path for the community.

This summer, our team was proud to help complete a new multi-use walking path for the residents of Whispering Pines Clinton Indian Band.

With no shoulder along Westsyde Road, travelling on foot was dangerous. The new path provides Elders and other community members with a safer way to reach the community centre and the Band office which is located more than a kilometre down the road.

Projects like this are a meaningful reminder that infrastructure is about more than what we build, it’s about helping people move through their community safely and stay connected to the places they rely on.

We’re grateful to have contributed to a project that will serve the community for years to come.

Acres Steps Up for Mental Health!

We are so proud of our team for raising $2,371.39 for the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation this May! Every dollar stays local — supporting mental health programs and resources right here in Kamloops and the Interior.

Acres Steps Up for Mental Health! 🧠🥾

Throughout May, the Acres team came together to reach daily step goals in support of mental health care in our region. Thanks to the incredible participation of their employees and generosity of our community, Acres Steps Up for Mental Health raised $2,371.39 for the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation!

Every dollar raised stays local, helping fund mental health programs, equipment, and resources that support patients, families, and healthcare teams across Kamloops and the Interior.

Fatherhood comes in many shapes and sizes - we take today to celebrate all of them.

Here's to all the dads, stepdads, adoptive dads, foster dads, expecting dads, grieving dads, chosen dads, father figures, mentors, and feather, fur, and scale dads of the world - thank you for the love, care, and guidance that you provide.

⚾ What a weekend, Acres family!
Our Annual Softball Tournament & Family Fun Day was everything we hoped for and more. Watching this incredible crew come together - the same people who bring their A-game to every job site and celebrate alongside their families reminded us exactly why we do what we do.
At Acres we are people and process. This past weekend was a beautiful reminder that our people are the best part of the process.
Safe to say this one was a hit. 💚

Every step counts. Every step gives back. 💚

Jeremy Buchner from Acres and Marisa Bertoli from the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation joined CFJC Midday today to talk about our “Acres Steps Up for Mental Health” campaign and why mental health awareness matters so much - especially in construction.

What started as a team step challenge has turned into something much bigger:
👟 Over 3.5 million steps logged
💚 Funds being raised for local mental health care
🗣 Important conversations happening along the way

In construction, there’s often pressure to “push through” without talking about struggles. We want to help open the door to more honest conversations and remind people that asking for support is strength - not weakness.

Huge thanks to CFJC Midday for having us on today and helping spread awareness during Mental Health Awareness Month.

Please join us in celebrating Mitchell Frost on officially becoming a Red Seal Certified Carpenter!

Mitchell has officially earned his Red Seal Certification, marking an exciting milestone in his carpentry career and recognizing the experience, hard work, and knowledge he’s built throughout the years.

For Mitchell, the journey was about more than writing an exam. After spending years in the trade, stepping back into “school mode” came with its challenges, but also gave him the opportunity to look at the work from a new perspective and continue building on the skills he’s developed throughout his career.

"It feels amazing to have accomplished this. After being in the trade for so long, earning my Red Seal makes everything feel official, like all the experience and hard work has really come together. I’ve had a lot of support along the way, and I’m excited for what’s next."

Mitchell is already looking ahead to his next goal: he has officially started his journey toward CCA Gold Seal Certification.

We’re proud of the dedication Mitchell has shown and excited to see where his journey takes him next.
