It's International Women's Day, and what a great day to be starting back at TRU as the coordinator for the WITT Program 😄. This will be my 6th go around, and I'm excited for this cohort. Now that I've been here for 3 years, I'm amazed at how many women I see walking around this building at present in various trades who started out in one of my WITT classes! Including my very own niece Grace, who is taking electrical foundation right now ❤ This program has sped up the progress towards equality in the trades, and I'm so glad to be a part of it.

Happy International Women's Day to all the amazing women out there.

I was very honored to meet Brenda Bailey during a surprise visit to our new Women in Trades classroom on Friday 🙂

Brenda Bailey, MLA and Parliamentary Secretary for Technology and Innovation stopped by the TRU School of Trades and and Technology on Friday to discuss diversity and inclusion in trades and technology. She had a chance to get a tour of our newly renovated Women in Trades Resource centre from RSE, Amber Cachelin. Amber is back on campus as the Industry Training Authority Women in Trades Coordinator for our Exploratory class and we're excited about the future of diversity and inclusion at TRU Trades and Technology thanks to the leadership of women like Brenda and Amber.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and see our initiatives through Women in Trades, TRU and discuss future possibilities.

Applications are closing soon for this amazing program, come try out the Trades!

We still have a couple seats open for this March's intake of the Women Exploring Trades Training Program at TRU.

This almost never happens as this FULLY FUNDED course includes:

* hands on skills in a minimum of six different ITABC certified trades
* gaining ten tickets commonly used in trades fields
* networking and interviewing with industry leaders
* Personal Protective Equipment, tools, and more COVERED.
