We know that you're probably excited to be working on your outdoor summer projects, but please be mindful of where you leave your materials. It's best practice to store your supplies at least 10 metres from any structures, as well as remove any unwanted materials from your property.

We're entering the season of hot, dry, windy days with lots of lightning, and it's critical that we're prepared.

Lightning causes approximately 60% of wildfires in BC, and when a wildfire becomes larger than a football field, it becomes extremely challenging to put out. That's why rapid detection and initial action are so important.

We encourage you to download the official BC Wildfire Service app so you can immediately report any wildfires that you spot.

Feeling stumped about which trees you should remove from your property? We'll help you get to the root of anything that's increasing your wildfire risk.

When we assess a property, we provide a comprehensive written report with photos of hazards and detailed prescriptions of how to reduce the risk of ignition, as well as an explanation for what is safe to stay.

For example, this standing, dead Douglas fir is not a significant fire hazard due to the lack of needles and fine fuels. It’s also far enough from the house to not be a hazard should it fall, meaning it can be left for future wildlife needs.
