Oh hey, it’s been awhile! 😅
Just wanted to pop in with an update — our dreams are still in motion! We’re currently juggling finances and weather as we continue building our new farm, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.
How life has kept us busy:
August – We celebrated our baby girl’s very first birthday🎉 We wanted to take the time to soak it all in - I blinked and she grew up 😭
September – Our boys upgraded to sixth and ninth grade (our oldest started high school 🤯)- And after 12 patient years together, my husband and I finally tied the knot!💍 We had a beautiful fall wedding in our backyard — it was the most amazing day!
October – We upgraded our laying hen flock to meet our growing local egg demand. 🥚
But with all these blessings also came a challenge: a financial roadblock.
Like many families, we’re feeling the strain — things keep getting more expensive. Even with my husband working his hardest as a unionized construction worker, maxing out hours and exhausting himself, we’re just getting by. So, it’s my turn to step up to the plate.
No more excuses — my dream will happen.
I’ve started from the very bottom before, and I’ll do it again if I have to. I’ve poured time and money into jobs that didn’t work out, pushed my body to its limits, and even spent thousands on a degree I can’t use locally. I’ve applied, brainstormed, listed, and prayed for a way to contribute meaningfully while still being here for our kids. But the truth is, every road keeps leading me back home — back to our dream.
So after many conversations, we’ve decided it’s best for me to focus on:
💚 Building our family business
🏡 Staying home with the kids
🌱 Keeping our household strong
✨ And most importantly — following my dream with River Root Farm
That dream is to work for myself, alongside my family, doing something we love every single day.
Some might see our next step as bold (or even lazy), but to us, it’s just being resourceful and determined. So here it is… drum roll please! 🥁
👉 I’ll officially be launching as a Facebook and TikTok content creator in the next few weeks! (Just need to grab a good camera and mic!)
My goal? To share everything — the real, raw, and beautiful parts of building our farm from the ground up. You’ll see our wins, struggles, family life, and probably a few clips of me cooking, making lunches, or even gaming (yep, we’re big gamers here — don’t be surprised if a Fortnite video pops up, *for the record- no one said I was good 😅).
We’re so excited to bring you along. Once we’re set up, keep an eye out for our first series:
