Green Door Gardens Grower of over 80 varieties of heirloom tomatoes.

Host to two informal, annual events featuring homegrown and homemade products ~ preserves, garlic, naturally fermented hot sauces and sauerkrauts, pottery, flowers, honey products and more. Heirloom tomatoes are those varieties that have been passed from generation to generation, and are typically over 50 years old. They retain the same characteristics when grown from seed, provided they have not

been allowed to cross-pollinate. Many heirlooms come with a story, and some have travelled from one country to another with the re-location of family members. They are known for their interesting shapes, colours and flavours, and are felt to be important in maintaining genetic diversity.
