Yesterday kicked off the final week of our Introduction to Timber Framing course for 2026! 🌲

Things are rocking and rolling early! After some sharpening demonstrations it was right into layout and then processing knee braces. Next we began cutting the joinery on the posts and finished up layout on the beams.

Thanks to Muskoka Timber Mills | Built For Generations for supplying these beautiful white pine timbers for the course!

Last Friday we raised a neat little structure at a property near Dwight for craft_timberworks 🌲

This week we wrapped up a tidy “little” front entrance framing detail with on a neat project just outside of Gravenhurst!

We also dropped off some decorative trusses, looking forward to seeing this one when it’s all wrapped up!

Some shots after a gorgeous couple days raising on Lake of Bays 🌲

The photos don’t give the real scale of this frame any justice. Sitting roughly 17’x21’ with 10x10 posts, 10x16 plates, and massive 8x roof components, this frame is an absolute beast!

The posts and plates were raised with genie lifts and then the roof system was flown in by a crane truck on a barge the following day. All Douglas Fir Timbers with a custom 2 part stain applied.
