I arrived at a job ready to seal the entire driveway, only for the homeowner to clarify she only wanted her half done. Fair enough. I tried knocking on the neighbor’s door to see if they wanted to do both sides at once, but nobody answered.
I drew the line, prepped the surface, and knocked out her half.
Right as I was packing up, the neighbor finally emerged.
"How much to do my side?"
I quoted her and offered an instant discount to do it right then and there so I wouldn't have to make a separate trip. She hesitated: "I have to check with my husband." No answer on his phone. She took my number, and I finished loading the truck.
Just as my hand hit the gear shift to pull away, the door flew open:
"Don’t kill me... can you do it right now?"
Gear back on, equipment back out, driveway complete. A good reminder to coordinate with your neighbor before the sealcoat truck pulls into the driveway!
