Garage doors are more complicated than meets the eye.

Newer models, instead of sliding as one unit, slide in panels or sections. When they slide, they reveal inserts that also have to be painted. But how do you keep them open long enough to dry but as also paint them quick enough so it doesn’t last all day?

Having serviced many homes like this one in Nepean, Letts Paint has the answers and the experience for homes just like these. We know the step-by-step approach to make garage doors shine ✨ Contact us today to refresh your home exterior 🏠

Exteriors!

A lot goes into these projects, and in a much different way than interiors. Heights, odd ladder placements, tying bushes back to get to the surface you need to get to - all of this is involved in our setup.

A few exterior details, especially when painting siding, that are non-negotiable: ladder safety and surface preparation. When it comes to ladders, three points of contact is absolutely essential when working on them. That could mean two feet, and one hand, or two hands and one foot are on the ladder at all times. Moreover, it is imperative to never stand on the top step!

For preparation, we use TSP on siding to clean the really grimy areas. We rinse with water afterwards and then let it dry to allow the paint to adhere optimally. This is common in Nepean neighborhoods where siding have been part of exterior decor for several decades. Then we use an exterior painting that is either meant for aluminum or vinyl, depending on the substrate.
