About Us:
West Central Contracting, a leader in the sand and gravel industry in Western Alberta, is seeking dedicated professionals to join our team for the 2024 season.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:

Class 1 Driver
Operations Dispatcher

Class 1 Driver Requirements
Key Responsibilities:

• Load and Unload Materials: Assist in loading and unloading sand, gravel and other materials, ensuring secure and safe transportation.

• Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with transport regulations.

• Maintain Logbooks: Accurately maintain logbooks and records of driving hours, routes, and vehicle maintenance.

• Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers at delivery sites to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.

• Emergency Response: Respond to and manage any on-the-road incidents or emergencies, coordinating with operations dispatcher as needed.

• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and other critical vehicle systems.

Skills and Abilities:

• Valid Class 1 Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience (preferred).

• Clean driver’s abstract.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a large dynamic team.

Dispatcher Requirements
Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Schedules: Create and manage driver schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

• Track Shipments: Monitor the progress of deliveries in real-time and provide updates to customers and management.

• Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during transportation, such as delays, route changes, or vehicle breakdowns.

• Communicate with Drivers: Maintain regular communication with drivers to provide support and instructions.

• Document Management: Keep accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver assignments, delivery times, and any incidents.

• Customer Interaction: Handle customer inquiries and provide information about delivery schedules and logistics.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that all drivers comply with industry regulations and company policies.

• Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect drivers and cargo.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong verbal communication skills in high-paced situations.

• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

• Flexibility to be available 24/7 while on shift.

• Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions.

Wage Range:
• Truck Driver $30.00 - $38.00
• Operations Dispatcher $30.00 - $38.00

A compressive benefits package will be available after 90 days of employment.
