𧑠Today, we reflect, learn, and remember.
On National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the Survivors of residential schools, the children who never returned home, and the families and communities who continue to carry their stories.
It can be easy to think of residential schools as something from a distant past..... but the last residential school in Canada (BC) closed in 1996.
That was only 30 years ago.
This isn't simply the history of generations long before us. It is part of our recent Canadian history. Survivors are still here. Families and communities are still living with the effects.
Reconciliation means being willing to listen, to learn the truth of our history, and to carry that understanding forward with respect and compassion.
Today, our Woodchuck Heating family takes time to remember, honour and learn. π§‘
Every Child Matters.
May we continue learning from yesterday so we can help build a better tomorrow.
