After sharing a few features we don’t always recommend, here are some alternatives that can give you the same design impact with better function.

Use those extra inches for a full-width pantry—ideally 18"+. If space is tight, try a spice pull-out or door-mounted spice rack instead.
✨ Instead of Open Shelves Around the Stove
Consider glass-front uppers. Clear, frosted or reeded glass can give you that beautiful display look while keeping your dishes protected from cooking splatter.
✨ Instead of a Toe-Kick Drawer
Consider drawer-in-drawer or tiered drawer storage. You’ll get better organization without adding unnecessary complexity.
At the end of the day, it’s not about avoiding every trend—it’s about choosing features that work for the way you actually live.
