Here’s to you Mike Selenuk. You taught me how to trim, frame, cut roofs, how to speak carpenter and so much more. As much as you loved to tell the same stories over and over (yes, just like me) and we went through our rough patches, I owe quite a bit to you. You were a proper carpenter and for a long time, a great friend. Today is for you. Rest In Peace.

Done and done! Just wrapped up this lakefront cottage in the South Bruce Peninsula. What a great adventure bringing this from a thick swampy forest to an amazing place to spend days weeks or even months! Thanks to all our trades that helped, all the crew at WestField and mostly the great clients we were able to work with. From the monster 40’ 1600 lbs ridge beam to make this the definition of open concept, the spray foam to seal it up right and keep everyone warm, to the THOUSANDS of feet of pine and hickory throughout, everything came together phenomenally.

Lots of progress on our cottage build!
Inspections and rough ins are all done, exterior work is wrapped up, spray foam has his build all ready for drywall and interior work!
Wait till you see the 22 ft pine ceiling!

Progress!!!
Trim touch up and ready for final spray! The patches of Yellow and orange is from the colour tint we add to our drywall compound and wood filler on nail holes so it’s easy to spot touch up points when everything is white on white on white. Wall has been removed, custom made stair posts and columns, crown moulding everywhere and ready for wall paint soon!
Can’t wait to see the hardwood, railing and kitchen really bring the project to life!!

Just reflecting at the end of the day as my phone charges up, coincidentally on the batteries of the people I would like to commend.
I have dealt with a lot of reps from many different companies since I started in the construction industry in 2001.
Over the last week we have been putting together an equipment order with the reps . Throughout this process I have received the most unbelievably amazing customer service of most, if not ALL other organizations I’ve worked with in the past. I feel legitimately fortunate knowing I can reach out to these people again. Not often do I feel this good after a large purchase, but this was such a positive experience, I felt it needed to be shared. As an entrepreneur in a rapidly growing business, I often find supplier interactions to be taxing on my time at a minimum, if not flat out frustrating. The Dewalt team, right from the beginning, were impressive to say the least. They were working FOR ME, not for the sale. This is rare. Very rare. The support, knowledge, response time, efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of EVERY part of the exchange was far above excellent, it was surprising in the absolute best way possible.
I was a Dewalt Tool Fan, now I’m just an all around Dewalt Fan. The whole team I dealt with should be proud and is lucky to have so many great people working here in Canada. This is not solicited nor is this to solicit a response from anyone at Dewalt. More companies should strive to reach this level of customer service.
