Prep is where the finish starts. 👌

These cabinet boxes had been previously painted with a roller and brush, so we needed to get the surface properly leveled before moving on to primer.

We started with 180 grit to cut down the heavier roller texture and brush marks, followed by a second pass with 220 grit to refine and smooth everything out for our coating system.

Using Festool sanders with dust extraction keeps the process controlled, clean, and consistent while giving us the surface we need for proper adhesion.

Next up: Renner 643 Super Build catalyzed 2K primer. 🔫

Spraying 101 🎯
A professional spray finish is about a lot more than pulling the trigger.
Gun angle, distance, speed and proper overlap all matter. Keeping the spray gun perpendicular to the surface helps maintain an even wet film and a smooth, consistent finish—while poor technique can lead to heavy overspray, dry spray, runs and sags.
It takes practice, patience and repetition to get it right. 👌

Every cabinet transformation is the result of careful preparation, premium materials, and attention to every detail.
For this project, every primed surface was refined using our Festool RTS with 400-grit sandpaper to create an exceptionally smooth foundation before the finish coats were applied.
The cabinets were then professionally spray finished in Sherwin-Williams Salty Dog (SW 9177) using Renner Italia 2K catalyzed wood coatings, producing a rich, durable, factory-like finish designed to look beautiful for years to come.
