When the Window Fits on Paper… But Not Quite in the Opening | Halifax, HRM

Another window installation completed in Halifax — and this one required a little more than simply setting the new window into place.

The new unit was an extremely tight fit for the existing rough opening. Rather than forcing the window in and compromising the installation, we carefully removed material from the rough opening with a planer until we had the clearance needed to properly position, level, and secure the window.
And with the window located on the second floor, access added another layer to the job.

Once the opening was properly prepared, the new window was set in place and securely fastened. From there, we completed the finishing work on both sides:
• Exterior trim
• Interior jamb extensions
• Interior casing

The result is a properly fitted window with clean finishing inside and out.

A few millimetres can be the difference between “it almost fits” and an installation done properly. Sometimes the most important part of the job is knowing how to adapt the opening instead of forcing the product to fit.

A Simple Upgrade That Changes the Look of the Entire Entrance | Dartmouth, HRM

Sometimes you don’t need to replace the entire entry system to give the front of your home a completely different look.

For this Dartmouth project, we installed an Andersen 3000 Series Fullview Storm Door — a clean, full-glass design that opens up the entrance and allows significantly more natural light into the home.

One of the great features of this door is its versatility. The full glass panel can be changed out for a full screen, giving the homeowner the option to enjoy an open, screened entrance when the weather allows and switch back to glass when protection from the elements is needed.

The goal here was simple: update the exterior appearance, bring more daylight through the entry door, and keep the entrance practical for Nova Scotia’s changing seasons.

Mission accomplished — fresh look, more light, and a happy homeowner.

Interior Door Installation in Bedford, HRM

Not every door installation is as straightforward as it looks.

We received this request Friday evening, and by Saturday morning we were already on site getting the new interior door installed.
Once we started, we found one small challenge: the wall was narrower than a typical installation, which meant the standard trim wouldn’t finish properly against the door frame.

No problem — that’s where a little carpentry comes in.

We built out and adjusted the trim to match the frame, carefully fitted everything in place, and finished the installation so the door sits and operates exactly as it should.

Now the installation is complete, the details are taken care of, and all that’s left is paint.
From a Friday evening request to a finished installation Saturday morning.

Patio Door Replacement & Opening Restoration — Dartmouth, HRM

What started as a patio door replacement required much more once the existing door was removed.

After discovering rot around the opening, we rebuilt the damaged sections of the rough opening before proceeding with the new installation. Proper deck flashing was installed to help manage water at the exterior, and the siding was carefully restored after the flashing work was completed.

The opening was then properly sealed and waterproofed with membrane tape, with additional exterior protection added before the door was insulated with low-expansion foam.

The new patio door was installed level and square, carefully adjusted, and tested to make sure both operation and closing were smooth and correct.
A good patio door installation isn’t only about putting a new door into the opening. The condition of the opening, proper flashing, waterproofing, sealing, and final adjustment all matter — especially when existing water damage is involved.

Single Entry Door Installation in Halifax, HRM

Another clean door installation completed in Halifax.

For this project, we installed a single entry door and took care of the details that make the finished installation work properly and look complete.
The door was carefully positioned, levelled, and aligned before final fastening. Sealant was applied beneath the threshold, and the gaps around the frame were filled with spray foam to complete the installation around the opening.

We then installed the handle, checked the door for smooth operation and proper closing, and finished the project with trim on both the interior and exterior.
A straightforward installation — properly fitted, properly sealed, and finished with attention to detail.
