In Nova Scotia, electrical installations and changes need to meet provincial requirements, and electrical work may require inspection through Nova Scotia Power before the project can move forward.
The important part is timing. Inspectors have busy schedules, and an inspection may not be available exactly when your contractor needs it.
That’s why electrical work should be planned early. The inspection needs to be booked in advance and coordinated with the rest of the renovation, otherwise the project can end up sitting and waiting.
Good renovation planning isn’t only about materials and trades. It’s also about knowing when permits and inspections are required and scheduling them at the right time.
