We recently had the pleasure of restoring + refreshing Tim Hortons Haliburton County gardens!
With extensive weeding completed, deadwood and plant debris removed, plus a fresh layer of mulch added (the finishing touch, of course) these gardens are ready to flourish for the summer!! ☀️🌷

It may look scary, but this is the process of getting a garden ready for winter.🥶 Bare, but clean, tidy & ready for another dormant season!

How do fall cutbacks improve next year’s growth? 🌷
• prevents fungal diseases caused by trapped moisture & debris
• improves air circulation
• promotes fuller blooms + rejuvenation
• energy management:
cutting a plant back forces it to redirect its energy to root development rather than supporting dying / weak foliage.
• reduces chances of pest damage

Though wild raspberries aren’t technically invasive because they are native to Ontario, their aggressive and rapid growth rate means they can easily take over an established garden in no time if not properly managed!

Today, September 22nd marks the official first day of Fall! 🍁
