Fall closing dates are filling.

Every pool in Wellington County has to close inside the same three to four week window. Call in August, you get your preferred date. Call in October, you take what is left.

Booking now costs nothing and holds your spot. We still close when the water temperature is right.

We close pools we installed and pools we did not.

The most expensive mistake in an Ontario winter is water left sitting in a plumbing line.

Water expands when it freezes. The pipe loses.

Every spring we open a few pools closed the cheap way and find cracked PVC under the skimmer, a split pump housing, or a heater manifold that needs a part ordered while the family waits three weeks to swim.

A closing costs a fraction of that repair.

Blow the lines out. Plug them. Every time.

Closing your pool too early is the most common mistake we see in Wellington County.

The signal is not the calendar or the first cold night. It is water temperature holding consistently below 15 degrees Celsius.

For most pools around Guelph, Fergus and Elora, that lands late September to mid October.

Book your date now. Close when the water says so.

Not sure where your pool sits? Drop a comment or call (519) 824-2331.

Nobody wants to think about pool covers when it’s still warm out. But here’s the reality most people forget: eight months of the year, your pool is a hole in the ground.

A tarp and water bags aren’t designed to provide the same level of protection as a properly installed safety cover. A safety cover anchors securely into your deck under tension, creating a strong barrier over the pool and providing added protection if a child, pet or adult accidentally steps onto it.

And the payoff shows up every spring. A mesh safety cover allows rain and melting snow to drain through instead of collecting on top. No soaked tarp to haul across the lawn, no water bags to drain and a much easier start to opening your pool.

Every cover we install gets measured on site and made to fit your pool’s exact shape, including steps and corners. They’re made to order and take a few weeks to come in, so now’s the time to book if you want yours installed for closing season.

We’ve been doing this across Guelph and Wellington County since 2006. Send us a message and we’ll come measure for free.

A quiet tip for late August: do not ease off on your pool just because the season is winding down.

The water is still warm, the sun is still strong, and the algae does not know that summer is almost over. This is exactly when a skipped week or a lazy chemistry check turns into a green surprise right before you want the last few swims. Keep skimming, keep the chemistry steady, and the pool stays easy all the way to closing.

The last few weeks are some of the best. Worth protecting.

The end of the season is the best time to deal with the equipment that has been nagging you all summer.

A pump that runs loud, a heater that is slow to fire, a filter that never quite keeps up. Sorting it out now, before the pool closes, means it is handled and forgotten by the time you open next spring instead of holding up your first swim. As a Hayward and Pentair dealer, we can upgrade or repair most systems quickly.

If something has been on your mind all summer, now is the easy time to fix it.

Some backyards just come together.

The right shape, a deck that flows from the house, landscaping that softens every edge. When it all lines up, the yard stops feeling like a project and starts feeling like the reason you stay home on a weekend. This is one we are proud of.

Late-summer question for the pool people: morning swim or evening swim?

There is the quiet of a first swim before the day starts, and there is the payoff of sliding in after a hot afternoon when the water is at its warmest. Both are right. We just want to know which side you land on.

If your liner is fading, wrinkling, or showing its age, fall is the smart time to replace it.

Most liner replacements take two to three weeks, and doing the work now means your pool is fresh and ready the moment you open next spring, with none of the spring rush. A new liner also tightens up water loss and makes the whole pool feel new again without the cost of a full renovation.

We install and replace vinyl liners across Guelph and Wellington County. Worth a look before closing season.

This is the part we never get tired of.
An empty yard becomes the place a family spends the rest of their summer. Clean lines, water that sits right against the coping, and a space that finally feels done. Twenty years in, and a first fill still looks this good.
