Cardinal Building is looking to add an experienced carpenter to our team!

We’re a growing company working on a variety of residential projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, flooring, framing, trim work, load bearing wall removals and full renovations.

We’re looking for someone who:
• Has carpentry and residential renovation experience
• Is comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Has experience with framing, cabinet installation, trim/finish carpentry and general renovation work
• Takes pride in their work and pays attention to the details
• Is reliable, motivated and shows up ready to work
• Has a valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
• Has their own basic hand tools

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to be part of a company where quality workmanship matters.

The finished floor is only as good as what’s underneath it. 👌

Prepping this basement for glue-down flooring means getting the concrete right first — grinding away old paint and debris, leveling out the problem areas, and finishing with a skim coat to create a clean, smooth surface for the adhesive.

It’s not the glamorous part of the job, but proper prep is what makes the finished product last. 🔨

Custom sized, built from scratch, and planned around the tile layout. Because sometimes “standard” just isn’t good enough.

Day 3 of co-op and he’s already doing baseboard and trim on his own. 👏

The best part? I didn’t even have to ask him to step in. He saw what needed to be done and got to work.

You can teach someone how to use the tools. You can teach technique. But that kind of initiative is something you love to see.

Safe to say I’m a pretty proud boss already. 🔨

Nothing stressful about drilling through a perfectly good tile… nothing at all.

Getting plumbing penetrations right takes a little patience — careful measurements, the right hole saw, and definitely no rushing. The goal is a clean, precise opening that lands exactly where it needs to and still gives the fixture a professional finished look.

It’s one of those details that gets covered up in the end, but getting it right matters. 👌
