⚠️ POOR AIR QUALITY ALERT: Stay Safe Indoors ⚠️
With the active forest fires burning across Northern Ontario, we are seeing heavily compromised air quality and reduced visibility across our communities.
The thick smoke drifting from these fires carries fine particles that can easily irritate your eyes, nose, and throat.
If you are noticing hazy skies or a strong smell of smoke, here is how you can protect yourself and your family:
🏠 Indoors
Keep windows and doors closed as much as possible.
Set your HVAC system to recirculate to prevent pulling outdoor air inside.
Run a portable HEPA air purifier if you have one to help clean indoor air.
🌳 Outdoors
Limit strenuous outdoor activities and take it easy.
Reschedule outdoor events or sports until the air clears up.
Wear a high-quality, well-fitting mask (like an N95 or equivalent) if you must spend extended time outside.
👥 Who is most at risk?
Seniors, children, pregnant individuals, and those with pre-existing heart or lung conditions (like asthma) are highly sensitive to smoke. Please check in on your neighbors and loved ones.
If you or someone you are with experiences severe coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, or chest pain, please seek medical attention immediately.
Wishing you all a safe and healthy week ahead,
– The Family at Rainbow Concrete & Maple Leaf Masonry ❤️
