Tennis Anyone??? We just finished a great looking structure to cool down in after your match. Automated screens to keep the bugs out, but the breeze still comes through. Square cut granite indoor and out connects the space with the beautiful outdoors. Clear cedar ceilings to top it off.

Update on a post in January of a cottage we were framing. Almost done and it's looking great. Add some skirting around the deck and some landscaping and ready for the summer!

Cottage in Muskoka we recently completed with cut granite slabs from a local quarry on kitchen floor. Complemented by same granite used for backsplash under the the custom brass range hood. So beautiful!

A new cottage build underway on Lake Muskoka in Gravenhurst. We are grateful to have it closed in before the big snowfall and deep freeze. While the shell is underway we are working on picking interior finishes and plan to turn the cottage over to the owners so they can enjoy it this summer. Big change from the old cottage we tore down for them last year!

This Cottage Life article discusses some things to keep in mind when buying a lakefront property. A VERY important step not mentioned is: A trip the the local town office to review the property file with the planning/building department. Does what they have on file match what you see on the property? It will allow you to understand what development/renovation/addition you can and cannot do. Correct that you cannot "renovate shorelines" meaning create sandy beaches but you should understand what you are allowed to do with the structures on the shoreline. Make sure all the structures on the property not only had a permit to build it, but a Final Inspection Report confirming the permits are closed off. There are situations where you are not even allowed to repair or rebuild what is already there. "grandfathering" does not work on everything. Best to do your homework to ensure no surprises later down the road,

When it comes to choosing a waterside property, it’s all about the natural assets. After all, unlike the cottage itself, shorelines and waterways usually can’t be renovated.

We didn't build the docks and boathouses in this Cottage Life article but they are so cool we thought we'd share.. We did build a floating helicopter pad for a customer last year...we thought that was pretty cool too!
