Well I was trying to clear out a bit of space in the shop but by the time I took it inside to take some pictures, it just seemed to fit the space too well! Oh well, what do you do 🤷‍♂️ The main structure of this project was made from a 6', 3" X 12" rough cut pine plank while the drawer faces and bottom shelving components were assembled with rough cut 2X6 birch, milled to suite the application. I couldn't resist the rough cut aesthetic so that became the main focus of the final product. It took some strategic sanding and 6 coats of polyurethane to maintain the aesthitic while ensuring a smooth, uniform finish.

Finally got around to a couple of shop upgrades! Integrated a router table extension onto the table saw with an additional mitre track, put together an adjustable radius jig for one of the routers and built a simple cross cut jig for the skill saw (not pictured). Long overdue, but incredibly useful!

Can't make an omlette without cracking a few eggs 😉 This is some beautiful, locally sourced birch with a selection of simple joinery and hardware to create a beautiful, elevated record table. Natural oil finish with 3 coats of a semi-gloss varathane to give it a simple, organic feeling finish. Cheers!

One of my favorite builds so far! Oak drawer and door faces on an oak plywood body that was all edged with purple heart hard wood. Pine top stained with an in house custom stain and a pine, half lap jointed wine rack, all sitting on solid walnut feet 😍😍😍

The newest build from Built to Last Carpentry. This sleek humidor is built from local clear grade cedar featuring a walnut inlay in the "false bottom" as well as walnut splines to strengthen the mitre joint on the box itself. The outside has been finished with a deep seating teak oil and polished with a bees wax to increase longevity while the inside is left unfinished to receive the moisture from the humidity booster pack. As cedar is well renowned for its ability to absorb moisture without creating mold, it makes for the perfect humidor building material as it will retain the moisture therefore not drawing it through the ci**rs or other plant based materials within, keeping everything properly humid. Happy Sunday people 🙂

The first complete set made by Built To Last Carpentry is finally here! Featuring a classic farmhouse design with durable joinery, this set is now looking for its forever home. The custom colored deep red table tops have been processed using an old Japanese wood sealing technique which brings out an incredible texture that feels as satisfying as it looks. This is a set that will last for years to come as it is 100% solid wood, put together with solid joinery techniques. The bases have all been finished with a scuff resistant furniture paint, which is designed for everything that happens in the living room. Take home the set for only $600.00 and see what Built To Last is all about. Free delivery can be arranged within the Grande Prairie area.

My take on a "farmhouse" coffee table. No mechanical fasteners used, only dowels, biscuits and friction. I also utilized alternating grain directions for the table top and slats to help combat differential movement. The top was sealed with an old school Japanese wood preservation technique (which leaves an incredible texture), a custom made stain and 4 coats of varathane. This is the first project being rolled out under my new page called Built to Last Carpentry. I created the page to help showcase and sell my projects with the intention of creating long lasting, handmade goods. I would love it if people could give it a like and a share and help spread the name. Thanks folks! Also, 2 matching end tables are on the way then the whole set will be off to market 😁

Welcome to Built to Last Carpentry! I started this page to showcase some of my work and hopefully make things easier to sell to a larger market than local Buy and Sell pages. I would love it if people could share my page and help get my name out there. Thanks everyone!
