Class 1 Driver (End Dump & Lowbed)
Career Opportunity Description:
The Driver is responsible for operating dump truck with and without pup, tractor, end dump, tilt deck and low bed in a safe and appropriate manner. The driver must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Perform daily pre-trip and safety checks.
· Clean and maintain equipment as scheduled.
· Work in accordance with corporate/governing safe work procedures.
· Attend and participate in all toolbox meetings, topics, concerns.
· Abide by the requirements contained in Gottler Bros Ltd. safety manual.
· Ability to fluently read, write and speak in the English language.
· Assist in loading and unloading of equipment
· Ensure that any debris caused by the loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up
· Complete all necessary paperwork and permits (may include, but is not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, equipment inspection, hours of service, etc.)
Requirements
· Must have clean drivers abstract and possess a class 1 license with air endorsement
· commercial driving experience is a must
· Heavy equipment operating skill is a large benefit
· Knowledge of equipment safety
· Knowledge of and ability to perform routine equipment maintenance
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
· Ability to work diplomatically and professionally with others
· Safety equipment will be required, e.g., steel-toed safety boots, high visibility vest, etc.
· Work safely around hazards associated with the trade
