WE'RE HIRING — ELITE HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Current Project – Golden, BC

Let's get the awkward part out of the way...

If your biggest qualification is, "Yeah, I ran a grader one winter in the oil patch," this probably isn't your gig.

We're looking for the operator everyone calls when the grades matter, the plans are complicated, and there's no room for excuses.

You must have proven municipal-level civil construction experience, including:
• Municipal watermain installation
• Storm & sanitary sewer construction
• Municipal land development and subdivision servicing
• Fine grading with a grader
• Dozer production and finish work
• Excavation around existing utilities

We're after someone who knows the difference between moving dirt and building infrastructure.

If you can build a road that's smoother than your excuses, lay pipe without making the surveyor cry, and leave a grader finish that makes the paving crew smile, we'd like to meet you.

Current project is in Golden, BC.

Before the comments start... yes, we know the wage isn't posted. That's intentional. Compensation is based on your experience, ability, attitude, and the value you bring to the team—not a one-size-fits-all number in an ad. If you're the operator we're looking for, let's have a conversation.

Turning a Liability into an Asset

Most projects see overburden soil as something to load up and haul away.

We saw an opportunity.

Using our new Kleemann MSS 502 EVO, we're screening and blending overburden with wood chips to create a growing medium that can be reused right on site for reclamation and revegetation.

Less trucking. Less waste. Lower costs. Better environmental outcomes.

It's a simple idea, but sometimes the best solutions come from looking at a problem differently. What was once considered a disposal challenge is now a valuable resource helping restore the site when the work is done.

That's the kind of practical innovation we love—finding ways to get more value from the materials already in front of us.

Turning liabilities into assets, one project at a time.

Two strings of 10” DR11 fused PVC waterline staged on the bank, waiting to become one continuous pull.

Next step: fuse the final joint, sink it, and pull it 10 metres deep beneath the riverbed through the pre-drilled alignment. Quiet moments before heavy pulls are always something special — all the planning, logistics, welding, drilling, and teamwork finally lining up for one shot.

Infrastructure isn’t glamorous work, but it’s the kind that keeps communities growing.

Volumetric Concrete Truck Driver Wanted

We custom built a high-tech batch plant on wheels.
Now we need someone smart enough to operate it.

This isn’t your grandpa’s mixer truck. This thing makes specialty pours, custom mixes, and enough concrete wizardry to make old-school batch plant guys slightly uncomfortable.

If your idea of a good time is talking mix design while heading into a remote community with a barge full of mix ingredients behind you… you may actually be our person.

One day you’re pouring concrete in Golden.
Next day you’re halfway up a logging road wondering why your GPS and satellite communication are the only reason anyone knows where you are.

The work:

- Operating our volumetric concrete truck
- Local work around Golden
- Remote work across Western Canada
- Barges, ferries, back roads, weather, logistics, and figuring things out on the fly
- Specialty concrete and mix design work

You are:

- Class 1 or 3
- Comfortable with manual transmission
- Calm under pressure
- Curious and interested in learning
- A problem solver
- Concrete experience is a must

Who we are:
We work hard, laugh a lot, and actually like the people we work with. No giant egos. No corporate buzzwords. Just good humans doing interesting work in weird places.

Expect random fun facts and questionable humour from dispatch while you’re out in the wilderness, just so you remember we still care about you out there.

One quick thing:
We’re a little old school. We still believe in eye contact, conversation, and at minimum a phone call.

Compensation depends on experience, capability, and fit. If your favourite part of hiring ads is discussing posting legislation in the comments section before saying hello, this may not be your ideal environment.

Good pay. Cool projects. Weird truck.

Crushing season is back in full swing in Golden, BC.

Proud owners of the first Kleemann MOBIREX MR 100 NEO in Canada — a German-built impact crusher that’s been turning heads since day one.

We’ve had the opportunity to work closely with the teams at Kleemann and Brandt Tractor Ltd. as this machine rolled into release, helping test, refine, and push it hard across a wide range of projects around British Columbia.

From remote work to production crushing, this thing has been an absolute weapon.

What we appreciate most is the relationship behind it all. It never feels transactional. The Brandt and Kleemann crews genuinely work alongside us, collaborate with us, and feel like part of our own team. That kind of support matters when you’re putting iron to work in the real world.

Fired back up for summer 2026 and excited for what’s ahead.

We’re not hiring a position.
We’re looking for a future owner.

Spur Construction has been building for over 20 years — mostly in places most companies won’t go. Remote communities, complex logistics, and projects that actually matter.

Now we’re thinking about the next chapter.
Over the next 4–5 years, I’m looking to transition the business to the next generation of leadership. That may include my kids down the road — but first, we need someone to step in and help lead what we’ve built.

This isn’t a corporate role.
And it’s not for everyone.

You might be a fit if:
You’ve led teams and carried real responsibility
You think like an entrepreneur but know how to operate inside a business
You’re as comfortable in the field as you are in a meeting
You want more than a job — you want a path to ownership

You’ll be stepping into:

Leadership across people and projects

Problem solving at a high level, daily

Growth, relationships, and opportunities

A real pathway to ownership for the right person

No polished résumé needed. Just reach out and let’s have a conversation.

Class 1 Driver Wanted – Ok Actually a Unicorn.

We’re not looking for a “driver.”
We’re looking for the one people call when things get a little… questionable.

We move weird loads, expensive gear, and “how are we doing this?” jobs—back roads, remote sites, barges, ferries.
Some days are smooth.
Some days you question your life choices (in a good way).

You are:
Class 1, legit operator
Manual transmission = no thinking required
Can back up without a committee forming
Low bed / logging / gravel experience = gold star
Problem solver, not a problem creator

We are:
A crew that works hard, laughs a lot, and actually has your back
No egos, no babysitting—just good people doing cool, slightly ridiculous work

You’ll even get random fun facts from our logistics manager about whatever tiny town you just rolled into… partly for entertainment, partly so you know we didn’t forget about you out there.

You get:
Work that’s never boring
Miles if you want them
Pay that matches the skill

If you read this and went “yeah… that sounds like me”… it probably is.

We're Still Looking for more Truckers – Spur Construction (Golden, BC)

If your idea of a good time is backing into tight spots, figuring things out on the fly, and not being babysat… keep reading.

If you’re looking for cruise control, podcasts, and the same route every day… this is not that job.

At Spur Construction, we’ve got different seats depending on how you like to work.

Want to stay local? We’ve got work around Golden hauling gravel, equipment, logs, and running volumetric concrete trucks. You’ll work hard—but you’ll still know where your fridge is.

Want more adventure? We haul into remote communities across Western Canada. That means loading your truck onto barges and ferries, chasing weather windows, and ending up in places your buddies won’t believe.

We’re hiring:
Class 1 Drivers
Class 3 Drivers
Class 5 (Air Brakes) – seasonal water truck

The work:
Gravel. Equipment. Logs. Volumetric concrete. Water.
Highway when you’re lucky. Backroads when you’re not.
Some days are smooth. Some days you earn your paycheque.

You’re not just driving—you’re part of the operation. When things go sideways (and they will), you’re the kind of person who figures it out instead of staring at it.

You bring:
A valid Class 1, 3, or 5 license (clean abstract)
You can drive manual without grinding gears like a rookie
You can back up without a full audience forming
You show up, pull your weight, and don’t create drama
A sense of humour—because you’ll need it

What you get:
Year-round work (Class 1 & 3)
Seasonal water truck role (Class 5)
Local or remote work depending on how you like to live
A crew that actually has your back
Solid pay

If you’re a problem solver, a good teammate, and someone people trust to just get it done, you’ll fit in here.
