Another day, another happy client. Vinyl plank install for Tracy Fedor. Thank you for trusting Calder Creek Contracting Ltd with your new floor!
Vinyl plank is very popular and if you have kids, animals or a rental unit, vinyl plank is the ideal flooring as it is much more resistant to damage/scratching than laminate or hardwood and is also typically waterproof.
However what most people do not realize is that with vinyl plank, the subfloor needs extra prep because vinyl plank is typically much thinner and manufacturers tolerances (for factory warranty) can be very specific :
- Plywood seams need to be sanded
- Low spots filled with quality floor patch or if the subfloor/concrete is really bad, installing self levelling concrete on the entire floor
- All nails/screws are flush or below subfloor surface
Calder Creek Contracting Ltd installs all floors to manufacturers specifications so you get your factory warranty from the company you purchased your flooring from.
*note : Tracy opted to remove the old flooring and baseboards and reinstall the baseboards herself to save some money on the install, I am more than willing to work with clients to get them the best price that I can!
