Well it's the start of a new year and we couldn't be more excited to see the fishing season is not that far around the corner! Our social media game has been lacking to say the least, but the fishing has been great the past couple of years. So this year we are going to make a serious comeback on the social media game and keep all you avid anglers up to date with posts and great pictures. So I would like to thank all of you who have come out so far over the past years and looking forward to seeing new faces. So here is to tight lines, huge smiles and sore shoulders in 2019! Fish On!

Great weekend at the Moutcha Bay Tourney! A 27 pound salmon won the grand prize and we were beaten out by a little over a pound for the first place biggest coho. We caught a total of 22 Chinook and 2 Coho. Here are a few pics of the salmon we caught along with some scenery...Pictures do no justice. You have to be here to get the full experience!

The Salmon are here! We were out yesterday and I always keep a record of our catches and here are all the times that we had one on, released or caught one. Lines were in the water at 9:00am and the fish hit at

9:10am - 11:10am - 11:25am - 11:55am - 12:10pm - 12:15pm - 12:40pm - 12:55pm - 1:30pm - 1:45pm - 2:20pm - 3:00pm - and 3:20pm

It was a good day for what is considered the early season! This year should be Fantastic!

***Moutcha Bay Salmon Derby is on June 24th and 25th in Nootka Sound, so be sure to call to inquire about a charter for those days***

Big thanks to Rob for booking with us at Newfound Fishing! It was a great day out on the water! Managed to scratch up 8 salmon in less than 4 hours, crab, prawns and a whole lot of scenery! Eagles flying high overhead and steeling fish from the surface... Octopus crawling across the deck while eating raw prawns... Paradise! It has been a great early season so far and only looks to get better. Time to book is now! 250-283-2113

Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter Weekend! The time is to book now! The fishing is heating up and the Columbia River run is starting to make their way down the coast. Managed to scratch up a 50 pound halibut and a few prawns for dinner. Yum.

Days are getting longer and you know what that means... Spring is right around the corner! We should be out on the water and posting pictures by the end of the month! Locals are catching winter springs and halibut right now! Remember, Lingcod and Rockfish (Snapper) open April 1st, so be sure to start booking to ensure you have an early chance at some beauties before the heavy flow of summer traffic begins.

Our little friend the groundhog saw his shadow today and is predicting 6 more weeks of winter... Well that doesn't faze us! We will be out on the water hunting those tasty winter springs, halibut, prawn and crab very soon!
The 2017 season is right around the corner so remember to book early! Lingcod and Snapper open April 1st and we should have good reports on the salmon, halibut, prawn and crab by then.

The Urban J has arrived and looking good! Installing down riggers, prawn puller, anchor, vhf radio, radar reflector, etc. Should be ready for engine brake in early February... Won't be long now! Fish On!
