Ferguson Plumbing, Heating and Electrical is looking for a Licensed Electrician to join our team.
As an Electrician at Ferguson's, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in accordance with the Ontario Electrical Code and customer specifications. You will work independently and collaboratively, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with the craftsmanship our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts.
Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, fixtures, conduits, and other electrical components.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems, equipment, and related devices.
Provide diagnostic assessments of malfunctioning systems and implement corrective solutions.
Install and maintain control systems, hydraulic/pneumatic electrical controls, and safety circuits (including light curtains and e-stops).
Test equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
Lead and train apprentices, demonstrating best practices and promoting safety standards.
Independently manage and complete jobs, create and review work orders with customers, and ensure project fulfillment.
Requirements
Certified Journeyperson Electrician with valid 309A license.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial and industrial electrical work.
Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code.
Working at Heights certification an asset.
Valid G-class driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.
Superior communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
Experience with conduit wiring layout and installation.
Proficiency in troubleshooting repairs and breakdowns quickly and logically.
Ability to supervise and mentor apprentices.
Basic knowledge of PLC programming.
Experience with network configuration, set-up, and commissioning.
Familiarity with safety circuits and control systems.
