After much thought and reflection, I’ve made the decision to close Wolfgang Handwerk. This chapter has been incredibly meaningful, and I’m deeply grateful for everyone who supported, shared, and believed in what we created together. ❤️

But with every ending comes a new beginning — and I’m excited to invite you to join my son, Sebastian Westner and daughter-in-law Amelia Westner in the next chapter of quality craftsmanship, home remodels, builds and renovations! 🚀

Drafty windows and doors can be worrisome, expensive and annoying, especially in the colder months! With winter right around the corner, we are sharing our top 5 tips and tricks to help combat those pesky drafts inside your home!

1) Lock your windows and apply weatherstripping.
Most people tend to forget this trick, window locks pull the sashes together and close the space that can leak air. Adding weatherstripping takes this a step further to ensure there is no air leakage around your windows.

2) Weatherproof your exterior doors.
Did you know that a ⅛-inch gap around the perimeter of a door will allow in as much air as a small window open halfway?! If you feel drafts around your doors, apply weather strips to the sides and top and new door sweeps at the bottom.

3) Applying a temporary caulking to drafty windows.
Temporary caulking can seal a crack for the time being in the colder months and will see you through until you can get your windows fixed or replaced.

4) Insulate with plastic.
Adding window insulation kits to your drafty windows can save you so much on your power bill throughout the colder months! Most window insulation kits are really easy to use and are readily available.

5) Adding insulating drapes or curtains to your windows.
These are incredibly helpful to add in the colder months as they are able to keep the heat in and the pesky cold out! This also gives you the added bonus of allowing you to let sunlight in to warm your space throughout the day!
