It’s my pleasure to launch a new page promoting the renovation of my mother’s house from its present state to a 100% wheelchair accessible long term care independent living facility.

mom was still sewing clothes up until her 90's for ENR or Parks (adjusting uniforms) she would sit in her sewing room use her vintage Elna sewing machine; still runs and older than I am - that's old.

Dad was a good looking young man in his Klondike Days attire circ 1970's looks like they are going to tie one on...

Madeline Nelner always invited people into her home when they had nowhere else to go. And now, even after the 93-year-old died in 2018, her home will be used for just that.

...with investment from CMHC and other stakeholders the market rent will be reduced and savings passed on to service provider in this case we hope NTHSSA Dehcho will step up as the role of service provider...

It’s my pleasure to launch a new page promoting rejuvenation of Ama's (my mother’s) House: Madeline Nelner Long Term Care Facility; which will be a 100% wheelchair accessible centre offering independent living for Elders and those with disabilities.

Mom passed away a few years ago, and her wish was to offer her home for community service. Mom understood how it felt to leave home and the uncertainty of being away from loved ones because due to lack of medical treatment in a small rural northern community. Homeless, family and friends anyone needing a safe place to stay would find themselves at her house. Mom's door was always open, that was her way of helping people.

I have recently made a presentation to the Dehcho Wellness Council (May/01) and there was overwhelming unanimous support for the project from all the Council members.

AND NOW WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU
PLEASE COMPLETE OUR SURVEY: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5JLZQ76

This project will be done in cooperation with CMHC and other stakeholders will continue that tradition for my years come.

I am hoping in a very short time that Elders and those with disabilities can choose to live closer to their own home community.
