Freedom is not free - it was built on the courage of those who came before us.

This Remembrance Day, we pause to honour the men and women who answered the call to serve, and those who continue to wear the uniform with pride. Their strength, sacrifice, and unwavering sense of duty laid the foundation for the peace and opportunity we experience today.

We also recognize the families who stood behind them - those who carried the weight of worry, distance, and loss so that others could live in safety and freedom. Their resilience is part of this legacy, too.

May we never take their gift for granted, and may their stories continue to remind us what it means to lead with courage, compassion, and unity.

Lest we forget.

Yesterday we welcomed four Grade 9 students to PME for Bring Your Kid to Work Day!

From learning about what we do in construction and exploring our core values, to rolling up their sleeves in the shop, the day was packed with learning and creativity.

Equipped with their own PPE and guided by our team - safety came first as these students toured our workspaces and got hands on cutting, nailing and staining their own moutainscape creations!

A huge shoutout to everyone who helped make the day both educational and fun - here’s to inspiring the next generation of builders, creators, and innovators!

On Lemonade Stand Day in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital, our Kenilworth team had the chance to visit Eloise & Henry’s stand and support their fundraiser. 💛 In one day, these two kids with big hearts raised over $2400 for Stollery families🍋✨ We’re so proud to be part of a community where simple acts of kindness come together to make a big difference.

PME is proud to be delivering high-impact upgrades to key intersections along Edmonton’s Valley Line West LRT.

With self-performed scopes and tightly coordinated crews, our teams are working around the clock to keep things safe, efficient, and moving forward. Shoutout to our day and night shift crews for making it happen!

Once complete, these improvements will support smoother, safer transit for the entire community.

🚧 Project Update: Hwy 43 & Hwy 670/733 Roundabout 🚧

We are making steady progress out on Hwy 43 & Hwy 670/733! The earthworks are well underway and the detour roads are currently underway. Traffic will be rerouted soon — marking the project’s first major milestone. Material hauling is in full swing to prep the east and west medians, with gravel, concrete, electrical, drainage, culvert, and fencing work progressing in parallel.

Our crews and subcontractors have been working hard to stay on schedule despite challenging conditions. Thick wildfire smoke has reduced visibility, impacted air quality, and forced us to adjust work as needed to keep our people safe. Even with those challenges, the team has kept progress moving on the ground.

We are proud to partner with Alberta Transportation & Economic Corridors, ISL Engineering, HELIX Engineering, Wapiti Gravel Suppliers, Proform Concrete Services, ASAP Traffic and Highline Electrical on this important project. Once complete, this roundabout will significantly improve traffic flow and safety for HWY 43 and the community of Bezanson.

On Friday, June 20th, our team gathered for a BBQ in recognition of National Indigenous Peoples Day - a day to honour and celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples across Canada.

We were grateful to have an elder, a local drummer and dancers join us from Bigstone Cree Nation, Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement and Ermineskin Cree Nation, sharing powerful traditions and stories that remind us of the richness and resilience of Indigenous cultures.

But June 21st is more than just a day on the calendar. At PME, we know that true reconciliation and respect require ongoing action - not just one day of recognition. We’re proud to work alongside Indigenous partners, employees, and communities year-round. From meaningful hiring practices to long-term project partnerships, we remain committed to building stronger relationships and deeper understanding every day.
