❗CANADA THISTLE❗

🚧 This invasive plant is also known as Creeping thistle, California thistle, and Cursed thistle.

🔎 Grows between 30 - 80 cm in height with white-purple flowers that can have a faint vanilla smell.

🌱 Canada thistle can be distinguished from other thistle species by its typically spine-less stem.

🧑‍🌾Hand pulling is often not effective as root pieces left behind can survive. Regular cultivation on cropland can be effective as it continually disturbs the plant's root system.

🍂Fall herbicide application is an effective long-term control method, but de-heading flowers before they go to seed must be done to prevent new plants.

❗ Seeds can sprout up to 21 years after they are produced!
