Today, on the National Day of Mourning, we pause to remember and honour the workers who have been injured, made ill, or lost their lives because of workplace incidents.
In construction, safety is more than a policy—it is a responsibility we carry every day for our crews, our families, and our communities. Every worker deserves to return home safely at the end of each shift.
We stand in remembrance of those we have lost and renew our commitment to creating safer workplaces through awareness, accountability, and care for one another.
Today, we remember. Tomorrow, we continue the work.

We're very excited to announce the arrival of a new and improved Blockbuster Video store here in Fort St John! That's right - bigger aisles, more movies, fresh popcorn smell and yes....late fees are making a comeback! From Friday night rentals to debating who forgot to rewind, we're bringing the full classic experience back to town! Stay tuned for updates!

Today we celebrate the women that keep us all moving! From our very dedicated and appreciated female employees to all of the strong women in each of our lives we say thank you! We don't need one day out of the year to recognize you but today we'll make it public. Thank you ladies!

WL Construction is currently constructing a building at the corner of 86th St and 93rd Ave (kitty-corner from the high school). Beginning next week, we will be using powder-actuated tools on-site. Given the proximity to both the high school and a densely populated residential area, we wanted to make you aware.

Powder-actuated tools use a small gunpowder cartridge to drive pins, and while they are not fi****ms, the noise they produce can easily be mistaken for gunshots. We have already notified the School District and local radio about this work, but we thought a quick post about this might help prevent any unnecessary concern.

The work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday and is expected to continue for the remainder of the week. This type of activity is common for us, and under normal circumstances we wouldn’t anticipate issues. However, given the heightened sensitivities following the recent tragedy in Tumbler Ridge, we want to do our part to reduce the potential for panic.
