By day we build water and sani lines. This year, we built something a little different after hours. 🏍️

Over a year ago we started moving dirt. Today I got to watch my son fly over what we built together. He ran the machine, I held the shovel (and now the camera). Every hour was worth it.

Earthwork has taught me that good things get built slowly, with the right people beside you and a lot of showing up. Turns out that's true in the backyard too.

Proud doesn't even cover it. Go get it, bud. 💪

Always got time for projects like this.

We’ve recently completed BC Hydro's Electrical Safety for Trades and Workers and training on WorkSafeBC's 30M33 process for working near BC Hydro infrastructure.

Every day we’re a little closer to the finish line. A lot of work has gone into this project, and it’s been great watching it all come together.

Good information from Canadian Home Builders on something that’s especially important here in Northern B.C. Water management and drainage are a big part of protecting a home and its foundation through our freeze/thaw cycles.

It’s something that needs to be done right from the start — proper grading, drainage and site preparation can save a lot of headaches down the road.

In Northern B.C., good drainage is a big part of protecting a home through the changing seasons.

Proper grading helps direct water away from the foundation. Eavestroughs and well-placed downspouts keep roof runoff from collecting beside the house. Foundation drainage helps move groundwater away before it can create moisture problems around the structure.

Why does that matter here?

Because once temperatures start dropping, water that sits where it shouldn’t can freeze, expand and contribute to movement, cracking, frost-related damage and moisture issues.

A well-built home doesn’t just deal with winter when the snow arrives. It is designed to manage water all year long — before that first hard freeze ever shows up. ❄️🔨

Poor fella lost his boot to the mud so bad he had to call it an early day — straight home to go boot shopping. 🛒

Moral of the story: the job site doesn't care about your footwear budget. Bring a spare pair during mud season.

Another sanitary service installed and ready for the next stage of construction. This one is a 6” sanitary line tied directly into an existing 8” mainline, with the pipe properly bedded in pea gravel to provide a solid, consistent foundation and long-term protection.

This is the kind of work we take seriously. The last thing anyone wants is to dig up a freshly installed system because it wasn’t done right the first time.

Big thanks to the crew at Dado Construction Ltd for coming out and helping us knock out the timber edging on this project.

The boys have done an awesome job — clean lines, tight corners and quality work all the way around. It's the little details like this that really make a project come together.

We’ve been spreading and packing the aggregate, and it's starting to really take shape. Lots more to come on this one, and we're excited to see the finished product come together.

This project is a seated fire pit area for the Nak'azdli Community Housing Project — meant to be used and enjoyed for generations to come. We're grateful for the work and happy to deliver top quality results here.

Project Update: Nak'azdli Whut'en Community Housing

With all underground water, sewer, and storm infrastructure completed by Gainor Holdings, our team has moved into the surface phase of the Nak'azdli Whut'en community housing development — grading, site prep, and final landscaping.

We're proud to bring the same precision and care to every phase of this project, and we look forward to seeing it through to completion.
