Along with my best friend, beautiful wife and partner Marie we are dedicated to creating truly one-of-a-kind pieces from reclaimed materials acquired from century old structures which were destined to either be burned or t
otally destroyed. Nothing can match the beauty, character, strength and integrity of these tight grained old growth timbers. In our humble wee shop on the outskirts of the city of Peterborough, Ontario in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes we transform discarded and unwanted hand hewed timbers that have weathered and aged over a hundred years. Each of our finished pieces are a tribute to both the pioneering spirit and the towering majestic tree that once stood. Each timber is different with it's own challenges & characteristics, and with over forty years experience there's still something new and exciting to learn from every piece. Hours upon hours are usually spent hand sanding (we call this a labour of love) to a buttery smoothness exposing the best of what this gorgeous tight grained ancient wood has to offer.
