🧡The Peace Bridge will shine orange on September 30th in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
As the bridge is illuminated in orange, we invite our community to pause, reflect, and learn about the history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system. The orange light honours residential school Survivors, their families and generations to come. It recognizes the strength and resilience of Indigenous peoples, communities, and Nations who continue to carry their histories, cultures, languages, and teachings forward.
This day is an opportunity to listen to Indigenous voices, deepen our understanding of the truths of residential schools, and reflect on what reconciliation means not only on September 30th, but throughout the year.
We encourage everyone to take a moment at the end of their day on September 30th, to look toward the Peace Bridge and reflect on how we can each contribute to a more respectful and informed future.
