It’s the time of year when we expect everything to spring to life 🌿 in our gardens! Some things are just later than others, like this Joe Pyeweed, but others as well, like Hostas, Balloon Flower, Gaillardia. We know the season is short but have patience, especially if things are in the shade or newly planted!!

Happy World Bee Day! A day to recognize and appreciate the role of pollinators in our environment. This video is from July, but presently the lone queen bumblebees are establishing their nests, often in the ground, hollow logs etc. Even a small amount of natural space helps them a lot. So if your garden is a little more “natural” than your neighbours tell them it’s for the bees!

Happy Mother’s Day! Don’t forget the flowers! Daffodils come back every year with their bright sunny ☀️ faces and are a trouble free, deer resistant addition to a sunny spot in your garden. Daffodils symbolize rebirth, new beginnings, and hope, but you need to plan ahead and plant 🪏them in the fall as a bulb. Mark your calendar 😉
