Woke up my morning's client from their slumber. I had no idea they were there, until the commotion from setting my climb line stirred this sleeping raccoon 🦝. I proceeded to coax them to a different part of the tree that wasn't getting worked on and went on with my climb.

Large sugar maple uprooting during last night's storm. This tree was barely holding on. I had couple hours of calm weather this morning to secure and remove the top of this tree before the afternoon's weather came in. The fence and 2 holding lines that I secured were the only things keeping this very heavy tree from crushing the clients garage. There are trees and limbs down everywhere from this storm.

Hi there, just thought I would share one of the many things that make trees so very interesting to me.
Bark types! They can vary dramatically in some species. These two sugar maples are about 8 ft apart in a natural forest environment. They are roughly the same age. The one on the left has an almost exfoliating type bark vs. the smooth and shallow furrowed bark of it's neighbor on the right.
