KPCL Dirt Movers

KPCL Dirt Movers Providing heavy civil construction services to the mining & industrial sectors around Western Canada since 1953.

Founded in 1953, Kelly Panteluk Construction Ltd. (KPCL) it is a second-generation company with a long track record of safely constructing key infrastructure projects in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta. Our permanent office and maintenance facilities are headquartered in Estevan and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – locations that enable us to better serve our prairie province markets. At KPCL, we pri

de ourselves in helping you solve complex construction problems, specializing in large technical projects that involve challenging soil conditions and intricate earth structures. Our modern fleet of more than 220 pieces of heavy construction equipment and our staff of up to 300 employees during peak construction help us to move as much as eight million cubic meters of construction material every year.

If an excavator and a skyscraper had a baby, it would probably look like this.

The Caterpillar 5130 weighs more than 180 tonnes and can load haul trucks in just a few passes, moving massive amounts of material every hour.

💪 Built for scale. Built for performance.

This is what productivity looks like on a large-scale earthmoving project.

Moving millions of cubic metres of earth is impressive.

Moving it to within centimetres of design grade is where the real skill comes in.

With grade-controlled Caterpillar equipment and experienced operators, KPCL delivers precision earthmoving that improves productivity, minimizes waste, and keeps projects moving forward.

Technology in the cab. Expertise in the seat. Precision earthworks.

The Caterpillar 730 Rock Truck may be the smallest of our haul truck fleet, but there's nothing small about it. With a load of approximately 28 tonnes, this truck can haul the equivalent weight of:

🚙 18 average passenger vehicles
🐘 4 adult elephants
🦬 Nearly 30,000 litres of water
And that's in a single load.

This truck offers exceptional versatility to operate across rugged terrain and in tight spaces to get the job done.

Now imagine it making dozens of trips every day, moving the material needed to build Saskatchewan's roads, dams, mines, and infrastructure. That's adaptability and productivity on a whole different scale.

Every cut. Every fill. Every pass.

Grade-controlled Caterpillar equipment gives our crews real-time design information directly in the cab, allowing for greater accuracy and efficiency across the jobsite.

The result? Less staking, less rework, and more confidence that the finished product meets design specifications.

That's precision earthmoving at work. 🚧

At KPCL, we're proud to build the infrastructure that keeps Saskatchewan moving—one dam, road, bridge, and earthworks project at a time.

Today, we're celebrating the people, communities, and province we're proud to call home.

Happy Saskatchewan Day! 💚

Ever wonder how much material a Caterpillar 772 Haul Truck can move?

At roughly 50 tonnes per load, one trip can carry about the same weight as:
🚌 A fully loaded school bus
🚙 More than 30 average pickup trucks
🦖 8 adult elephants

When you're moving millions of cubic metres of earth, scale matters—and these machines are built for exactly that. 🚧

What do beavers and construction workers have in common?

Both know a thing or two about moving dirt, managing water, and building something that stands the test of time. 🦫🚧

The difference? One works with sticks and mud. The other uses excavators, dozers, and decades of expertise.

Either way, it's all about building today for tomorrow.

Think your pickup truck can haul a lot?

A Caterpillar 775 Haul Truck can carry up to 70 tonnes in a single load. This is comparable to filling about 4 tandem gravel trucks with material.

That's roughly equivalent to:

🚗 45 average passenger vehicles
🦏 30 adult rhinoceroses
💧 70,000 litres of water
🏒 The weight of nearly 12 Zambonis

When you're moving millions of cubic metres of earth, efficiency comes down to moving more material with every trip. That's why machines like these are essential on large-scale earthworks projects.
One load. One trip. 70 tonnes moved. 💪

What do beavers and construction workers have in common? 🦫🚧

We both like tackling one dam project after another. 👷

Last year, KPCL crews partnered with on the Rafferty Dam Spillway Rehabilitation project. The work involved tying into the existing under-slab drainage system to install new manholes, a collector system, and a pump station.

With excavations reaching depths of 12 metres at the base of a slide rail shoring system, this was deep, complex work—exactly where our team performs best.

And with the significant rainfall Southeast Saskatchewan has received this year, projects like this play a critical role in maintaining the long-term integrity and performance of this important piece of infrastructure.

🎖️ This project was nominated in both the Asset Preservation & Maintenance Management and Construction Methodology categories at the 2025 Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association Industry Awards.
