I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Jason Waines, owner and operator of Grid Electric and Data Ltd. I have been working in the electrical trade since I was 18 years old (so 20 years now). My Grandfather got me into the trade as he was also an electrician for his whole career. He started me off as a child with circuit boards and a soldering iron, then he signed me up for first year electrical out of high school. My stepfather also had a hand in my background as I used to work with security surveillance systems as he owned a retail store which sold them.
I started my career in Vancouver working on new high rise construction and since then I have had my hands in almost all aspects of the trade. I have worked with steel stud, wood frame, concrete, high rise, low rise, townhouses, multiplex buildings, office spaces, renovations, street lighting, residential housing, commercial spaces, hospitals, care homes, underground systems, industrial sites, and data/communication. I was also trained as a splicer for fiber optics and was a lead splicer for one of the Vancouver companies while I still lived there. I moved to Blind Bay in 2015 and have been working in the area since 2013.
I would like to say one of my specialties is troubleshooting and I tend to find this the most interesting aspect of the work. For three and a half years I worked as a local installer (Salmon Arm and the surrounding area) for an Inside Service Provider where I was the lead technician, in which I was heavily trained in Wi-Fi technologies
I decided to start my own business this year servicing the North Okanagan and Shuswap areas. I am based out of Enderby but I'd be happy to travel to surrounding areas (Vernon, Salmon Arm, Armstrong, Blind Bay, Sorrento and North Shuswap).
