The mobile seed cleaner is coming to Grindrod on September 16th. Join us at Green Croft Gardens, 42 Meadowview Road, Grindrod, for a day of seed cleaning. The event runs from 10am-3 pm. There will be a seed saving workshop and Q & A session from10 am- 12 pm. Learn about seed saving for climate adaption and incorporating seed saving into your crop plan. Many thanks to FarmFolk CityFolk for bringing the trailer up to the Southern Interior and Green Croft Gardens for hosting!
FarmFolk CityFolk’s trailer is equipped with a variety of tools to clean seed quickly and efficiently. Bring your seeds and clean them with the equipment provided. Some of the types of seed that have been cleaned in the past include: wheat, fall rye, peas and beans, lettuce, chard, kale and a variety of flowers. There is no charge, but donations to FarmFolk CityFolk are appreciated. Drop ins are welcome, but it helps if you register if you have a large amount of seed to clean.
If you don’t have seed to clean, but are interested in growing and saving seeds, come anyway. It is a great opportunity to network with other seed savers, learn about seed saving and see the seed cleaning equipment in action.
