Let's talk DECK PREP! Properly preparing your deck is so important.
Step one: pressure wash (ahead of time), to remove excess grime that gums up sand paper.
Step two: SAND, you cannot skip sanding. Using an orbital sander opens the pores in the wood to accept the stain. If not it will peel. Pressure washing forces the pores closed.
Step three: Stain 🥳, only after the wood is under 25% moisture. If using a solid stain I recommend going a step above and priming with Stix primer on the horizontal surfaces.
