Employee Spotlight: Meet Dani!

Dani has been getting messy in gardens with Pick, Plant and Prune since 2022. We found her by luck when she came to volunteer in one of our community garden projects. She blew us out of the water with her energy and knowledge based.
Since then she has continued to impress everyone with her excitement towards gardening and random interesting facts she finds. If you need someone to get excited about garden creatures this is your woman!

She recently graduated from the Horticulture Technician Apprenticeship program and is working towards her red seal designation. She heads one of our teams as Foreman and is invaluable to the company. She keeps motivating us all to work harder and get curious about everything around us. We look forward to another year working with Dani.

We finally got our schedules together and had the weather on our side to celebrate our 2025 season. Thank you to our amazing staff for a wonderful season and their commitment to our company. The energy is high for the coming 2026 season.

Not yet.

We stopped by the greenhouse today to check on everything. Although today was warmer and feeling like spring we have about two feet of snow covering everything in the gardens. It was a beautiful reminder that there is still time to plan for spring as it is not here yet.

To All the Gardeners.

With the first sunrise after the Winter solstice we celebrate the growth of the sunlight everyday until the first day of Spring. Although Winter in the North might be long, it gives us plenty of time to dream for next season.

Happy Holidays to all those who celebrate around this time of year. Happy planning to all the gardeners who wait all Winter for the first signs of Spring.

Hoar Frost.

What a stunning day we had in the garden today. The frost had gathered overnight. Beautiful spikes all over our dead plants. It looks like winter has come to stay and the gardens will sleep till spring.

Remembrance Day.

Today we all remember the sacrifices that others have made for our beautiful and peaceful country. Pick, Plant, and Prune and The Abundance Garden are lucky enough to spend a good chuck our time with activity and retired service members. We could not do the work we do in the community without them and their wonderful energy.

We remember those who gave their lives.
But we also remember those still with us.
Those living with the scars and memories.
Thank you for spending time in our gardens.
You have made a world of difference for us.

So excited to be a sponsor of this amazing local event this year. Halloween is the absolute best but can be very overwhelming for those children who live with certain disabilities. This amazing group of people Ability Hive have made an event which is accessible to all.

Sunflowers and bumblebees.

The love affair that bumblebees have with sunflowers is unmatched. Every August and September my morning starts with snoozy bunches of bees snuggled on the giant flowers.

This year we have seen an abundance of the bees and hope this is a good sign for next season. .abundance.garden is excited to host the today for our garden course ❤️.
