This service repair was in Elmsdale.
This service only had 2 mast straps with 2.5 inch lag bolts screwed into nothing but the siding, which started to damage the roof from swaying.
To repair this we added blocking in both existing strap locations and add a 3rd strap and blocking above the soffit.
The lag bolts were upgraded to 5 inch to make it through the siding/foam backing and into the blocking.

We love these old houses.
This 1881 home is in Windsor NS
We started with a 200 amp service upgrade and moved onto:
- Removing the k**b and tube
- Removing the surface mount panduit and ran the wires inside the walls.
Then we added:
- 1-5 receptacles to each room
- 2 outside lights
- 2 outside receptacles
- 5 data runs for wifi boosters throughout

This emergency service repair was on a farm in Urbania.
A tractor crossing the fields hooked the overhead lines and pulled the mast off this home.
We were not able to reuse the old round meter base or mast but we did manage to save the load side from the meter into the panel.

We are on week 2 in Avondale NS
Working on a historic home built in 1881.
This home still had the original 30 amp 120 volt service in the attic that was active until this year.
This 7 bedroom home had only 4 circuits supplying the entire home when it received power for the first time. ( year unknown )
We will be spending the remainder of this week removing what’s left of the active k**b & tube wiring taking special care not to damage the wood work or tin ceilings.

Today’s service upgrade was in Dartmouth changing this 1960s round meter base and glass fuse panel to a new 200 amp service with Siemens panel inside and a galvanized mast through the roof outside.
If you look at the original service head photo you will see all 3 conductors were worn down to bare copper.

Eastern passage must have salt in the air so many of these rust out.

I wish I had the before pictures from 1960s to now.
Heated floor

Ducted range hood

An extra light added over the sink.
