The September issue of Canadian Architect magazine magazine features the Bouchier Indigenous Student Centre at Keyano, with a piece by Elsa Lam that looks closely at how the Centre reflects the cultural and natural character of the region, from its gathering spaces and landscape-inspired forms to the stories, teachings, and material details woven throughout the project.
Located in Fort McMurray, in Treaty 8 Territory, the Centre was designed by Tiffany Shaw through Reimagine Gathering, with support from Reimagine Architects, and developed through close engagement with Indigenous students, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, artists, and community members.
We’re excited to see the project recognized in this issue and grateful to Canadian Architect for giving the work such thoughtful attention.
