"Hi Mercedes, as discussed my computer situation precludes me from posting to Google Reviews from your website. So I hope this will serve as an acceptable substitute.

I'm a member of Acclaimed's Comfort Club and up until recently had just viewed it as a way to annually amortize the cost of an annual maintenance check up.

However, recently my old furnace started acting up and Jay promptly attended on a Sunday to help with the problem. I appreciated his candid advice and he left with the furnace operating again. However, this was short lived and after some follow up discussions with Jay and further efforts on my part trying to replace a pressure switch and mother board with no success, I decided enough of the "parts cannon" and asked Jay to have someone talk to me about a replacement furnace. At that point I had been heating the house with the kitchen stove and portable heater for two days in the minus 20's.

Luc contacted me that evening and said he could come to see me within about a hour. He also said he would bring some portable electric heaters that would be free if I decided to purchase a furnace. He spent a lot of time going over my requirements and provided a detailed estimate which I accepted and he said the installation could be scheduled within 3 days.

The arrival for installation by Stephanie and Mason was scheduled for between 8 and 10 AM and I was very pleased to get a text about 7:30 AM saying they were on the way. I appreciated the work and care they took during the installation. Little things like putting down a protective carpet, making sure everything was cleaned up afterwards and taking the time after the installation to thoroughly go over the questions I had.

Overall, everyone I have dealt with at Acclaimed has been very
professional and helped minimize the stress of replacing a furnace in the middle of a cold winter. A "five" rating all around!"

What is refrigerant, and why should you care?

You’ve probably heard terms like R-22 or 410A thrown around like you’re supposed to just know what they mean. So here’s the simple version:

👉 Refrigerant is the chemical that makes your AC actually cool the air. Without it? Your system’s just an expensive fan.

But not all refrigerants are the same. Older types like R-22 are being phased out for a reason: they’re bad for the environment and no longer supported. If your AC still runs on R-22, now’s the time to plan ahead.

Pro tip: If you're getting your AC "topped up" every summer, that's a red flag 🚩
It usually means there's a leak, and topping up is just a band-aid fix.
