Silent Ice Center in Nisku, Alberta. Two ice surfaces, dressing rooms, boardrooms, lobby spaces and acoustic treatments throughout. This one was a fun project to capture. Wall panels, baffles, and clouds all working together in a seriously impressive facility.

Good hockey games should be loud. The building around it shouldn’t be. At Downtown Community Arena, acoustic wall panels and baffles help keep the space controlled, so the energy stays on the ice where it belongs. A small part of what makes the game we all grew up with sound right.

A look inside Ohpaho Secondary School in Leduc, Alberta. Dan Lake, principal, shares how the acoustics in the library have made it a favourite space for students.
