The Wilco NW crew is invested in the future! We have been working on renewing the soccer field at Dr. Lila Fahlman School. We aim to be part of providing a beautiful, safe, and updated soccer field for children to enjoy!

Wilco NW is completing naturalization along the Whitemud and Yellowhead. From planting over 200 shrubs to spreading topsoil on their beds, the Wilco NW crew has been working hard!

Naturalization is the process of transforming spaces to reflect naturally occurring or non-invasive plant species, including flowering perennials, grasses, and, in this case, shrubs. Naturalization projects have been happening in Edmonton since the 1990s.

Today, naturalization can be included as a landscaping component in new developments. This process can improve air quality, reduce urban heat, support biodiversity, and increase an ecosystem's resilience against extreme weather.

Update on out Valley Line West LRT project: we're continuing to strip sod in plant bed areas, cleaning up the staging area and making straw waddle marginal piles. Wilco NW crew stays hard at work!

A little rain never stopped a Wilco crew. 💪 Heavy equipment, wet weather, and pure hustle. We had the hydrovac on-site, wrapped up the first lift of the crest, and got the toe all cleaned up. Rolling right through the elements!

Breaking ground on 132 Ave East Renewal! 🚧

The team at Wilco NW is hard at work on the third year of this major project. Our crews are handling full reconstruction, which includes digging up and paving the roads, as well as removing and replacing public sidewalks & curbs.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work efficiently through the season to build better, safer infrastructure for the community!
