We don’t think this one is making it into the next Bobcat catalogue… 😂

Some transformations aren’t about making something bigger—they’re about making it more usable.

When we first stepped into this backyard, there wasn’t much reason to spend time outside.

Today, it’s a space designed for slow mornings with coffee, summer BBQs under the pergola, family dinners on the patio, and evenings spent around the backyard instead of inside.

Swipe through to see where it all started.

One thing we love about projects like this is that the finished patio is only part of the story. Every excavation, every load of base, every level check, and every paver placed is what makes the finished space something homeowners can enjoy for years to come.

We feel incredibly grateful every time a family trusts us with a space that’s going to become part of their everyday life.

Thanks for trusting us with your backyard. We hope it brings you years of great memories.

👇 If this was your backyard, what’s the first thing you’d do out here?

* Host a BBQ 🍔
* Morning coffee ☕
* Relax with a good book 📖

When we visit a property for a site consultation in mature Edmonton neighborhoods, we often see the exact same issue: low spots along fence lines and sunken turf near foundations. These headaches almost always track back to rushed site prep and incorrect initial measurements.

Our team takes a systematic approach to prevent these drainage disasters before they ever start.

During a recent project phase around 115 Ave, we deployed our standard preparation protocol. As you can see we first map the outer perimeters with a commercial measuring wheel. This gives us exact square footage calculations so we order the perfect amount of topsoil, aggregate, or sod, saving our clients money on material waste.

Next comes the fine-tuning. Our crew is down on the subgrade, using a 4-foot level to check the slope next to the residential fence. Ensuring a positive slope away from structures is critical in Alberta, where heavy summer storms and rapid spring thaws put intense pressure on residential drainage systems.

Taking these manual steps during our consultation and preparation phases is why our work stands up to local weather patterns year after year. We are fully licensed, WCB-covered, and dedicated to transparent, step-by-step workmanship.

If you want your next outdoor project built on a flat, properly graded foundation, send our page a message to schedule an on-site consultation.

The finished product is always the highlight, but it’s everything behind the scenes that makes it possible.

If you’ve walked around residential neighborhoods near the North Saskatchewan River valley, you’ve likely seen patios that have started to buckle, separate, or run completely crooked against the house. Most of the time, those issues don't stem from bad bricks, they stem from rushed site preparation.

Our crew started site layout operations on a residential project here in Edmonton. Before we bring in the skid steers or dump the first load of crushed gravel, we map the entire footprint manually.

As shown, we set green metal stakes and pull bright string lines to mark out the exact boundaries. Then we use a speed square at every critical intersection to guarantee a perfect 90-degree angle.

Taking these precise measurements protects your investment. Edmonton’s soil is notorious for shifting, and a perfectly squared layout ensures that the base materials distribute loads evenly, preventing shifting after a harsh winter.

We believe in doing things right the first time. Our team is fully licensed and backed by years of local experience building durable outdoor spaces.
