Commercial door mutes do more than soften the closing sound of your doors. They're also responsible for stopping the door is it's proper position.
When your mutes become worn, or if they're missing, your door might close too far and create enough pressure on your latch that it becomes stuck in the closed position.
To prevent accidental lock-outs, check your mutes occasionally and replace them if they're worn or missing.
