ATEK Fence and Deck The Composite Deck Specialist of Edmonton.

09/17/2026

Jess from A-Tek Fence & Deck is walking us through one of their latest builds, and we’re proud to have supplied the Fiberon decking and railing for the project.

The team used Fiberon decking with a contrasting border, paired with Fiberon aluminum railings for a clean, modern finish. The design also includes three stairs with matching railings, giving the whole deck a polished look.

Even better? A deck like this can typically be completed in about a day, so you can start enjoying your new outdoor space sooner.

Planning your own deck build? We can help you choose the right products and connect you with trusted contractors like A-Tek Fence & Deck to bring your project to life.

We often see the finished product but not the process.

Before the boards ever go down, we're coating every joist, stringer, and carrying beam with Deck Frame Coating — extra protection against moisture, rot, and the elements. It's the stuff nobody sees once the deck's finished, but it's what makes the difference 10 years down the road.

At ATEK, we don't cut corners on what's underneath. Quality build, quality materials, every time.

A little extra protection now can go a long way.

For backyards with considerable slopes, installing a landing area for stairs can optimize space.

While it involves higher upfront costs, the long-term benefits are considerable. It makes your yard look clean and neat.

🌧️ Weather Update for Our Valued Clients 🌧️

Due to the significant rainfall we've experienced and the continued rain forecast for next week, we are currently experiencing delays on all deck and fence projects.

We understand that everyone is excited to see their projects completed, and we appreciate your patience during this time. Our priority is to ensure every project is built safely and to the highest standard, which sometimes means waiting for better weather conditions. The quality of our work remain our top priorities, and certain stages of deck and fence construction cannot be completed properly in these conditions.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to getting back to work as soon as Mother Nature cooperates! ☀️🔨

The beam is the most common cause of a total deck rebuild, not the joist, deckboards, or post.

We have had numerous repairs and rebuilds due to a soggy or rotten beam. To address this, we protect the beam and apply tape.

In our experience, the joist does not need tape, but the beam requires 100% protection.

Not all deck builders are the same.

We own and operate our own screw pile machine, which means we don’t rely on outside companies to get your project started.

Our Screw piles are all engeneered with cmcc evaluation 10FT deep with 12 inch helix.

What that means for you:

• Adjustments on the fly
• We are responsible for underground utilities
• Faster installs
• No waiting weeks for pile scheduling
• Better accuracy and layout
• Stronger foundation
• Smoother, faster project completion

When we build your deck, we handle everything from the ground up.

A solid deck starts with a solid foundation.
